Our Purpose
Civic Society is a consulting firm and social enterprise founded in 2025. Civic Society was built in response to the increasing social complexity driving the disconnect between people and policy.
At Civic Society, we believe lasting policy change begins with cultural change - which starts with centering the people our societies are meant to serve.
Guided by the mantra “Culture Shapes Policy – Policy Shapes Culture,” Civic Society focuses on the way our culture is shaped by the policy legacies of previous generations. In order to become active intervenors building a better future, it will take a concerted effort by organizations of all kinds to build new cultures, turn them into policy, and create a new legacy for the next generation to inherit.
As a social enterprise, Civic Society partners with the local Calgary non-profit Good Neighbour. Good Neighbour provides emergency clothing and warm meals to Calgarians regardless of their ability to pay. The organization is volunteer-run and relies on donations from the community to help meet basic needs such as food, clothing, toiletries, and spaces for community gathering.
