Municipal governments need to develop strategic, adaptable housing plans that respond to evolving policies and address local zoning, development charges, and tax issues. My work on Calgary’s housing policy drew on national and international research that identified where municipalities struggle to create affordable markets and the solutions that can help them move forward.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Many organizations are retreating from EDI efforts, but strong equity, diversity, and inclusion policies are essential for balancing political pressures with long-term organizational benefits. When grounded in historical and social context, EDI frameworks help institutions navigate movements like #MeToo, Black Lives Matter, reconciliation, and ongoing discrimination. Effective EDI policies not only strengthen workplace culture, trust, and retention but also enhance reputation, support economic growth, and position organizations as leaders during times of crisis

With extensive experience as a corporate director across sectors like public safety, housing, arts, and municipal leadership, I emphasize strategic plans with clear, achievable goals. Combining corporate expertise with a background in education and facilitation, I create evidence-based plans that reverse-engineer actionable steps to ensure goals are both attainable and mission-aligned.
